The tour of the Burlingame Farm in Killingly, CT took place March 1, 2014.
The Burlingame family purchased this farm in 1818. The original farm house was probably built around 1790, along with a small barn that is going to soon be renovated. The barn pictured here was built around 1840.
This family farm primarily raises sheep, hay and Christmas trees.
The tour participants were lucky to see some brand new babies that day. This particular one had a difficult birth and almost didn’t make it. With extraordinary efforts by the farm owners, he was hopping around on the day of the tour full of joy.
